Pickering Village Festival 1987 Commemorative Plate
The Gordon House, Kingston Road West, built 1881.
Built by Mr. Cuthbert for his nephew James Gordon. The hotel, known for its excellent meals and well appointed dining room, served the stage coach as well as the community.

Home of the 1st Doctor in Pickering, 100 Kingston Road W., c. 1867
In 1850, Dr. Burns, purchased 1/2 acre to build this home and office. The metal spired cupolas and decorative brickwork are an interesting design. Dr. Tucker, who succeeded Dr. Burns, also practiced medicine at this address.

The Manse, 543 Kingston Road, built about 1872
Originally built by St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. It became the Manse, for Pickering United Church - 1925. It is presently the home and office of a young lawyer.

Former Birthing Place, 49 Old Kinston Rd., c. 1890
This house served as a rum-runners hide out, a carriage house. For many years Mrs. Irish operated a Birthing place. Presently it is the Casa Verde restaurant.
